Outlook unable to display the folder

Cause:
The most common cause of this problem is the corruption of the outlook.pst file. Outlook accesses the .pst file the second you launch it. Since this is where the mails and other information from outlook get stored, corruption of this file means all your outlook mails, contacts, calenders, etc., are rendered inaccessible.
Solution:
To resolve this problem repair the .pst file and then access your outlook data. Microsoft has an in-built repair tool known as the Inbox Repair Tool. However incase you have a large .pst file or the corruption occurred due to external reasons, you will need to use a third party software to help you do the same. This is because, the Inbox Repair Tool does not work in the above two cases.
Third party software, namely Microsoft Outlook Recovery software, repair PST files. Once the files have been repaired, you can set Outlook to use it and thus recover all your mails, calender settings and other information saved on Outlook. These software can be downloaded from the Internet, onto the system with the problem and then used to repair Outlook PST file thus rectifying the error.
